Group Blog (Final Exam)
For this project, I will work independently. I do not have connections to a lot of people within the class I realize from past projects that working solo can make production difficult. Working solo for most likely mean that I want to spend a lot more time planning for the filming. Having more people can make coming up with ideas better and give you better opportunities throughout the entire project. Somebody might have an amazing and interesting idea or story. Next, another person might have a drone or good camera to film all the required shots and angles. A final member could also know how to make different voices or have access to a fitting setting to film. I will need to find a way to film myself at different angles and distances without showing any equipment in the shot. Especially for recording audio, my own voice will seen repetitive as it has to narrate and serve as the dialogue for different characters. This could theoretically be solved with soundboards and voice modifiers. One problem with this, is that I don't have access to such programs nor do I know how to use them. The best solution would be to have a friend or family member outside of school record a couple of scripted lines. This will definitely add more depth to the project as different people could show these different and more complex emotions. But, the script must be well-written and concise for anyone to recite lines. This all would tie into the original plot and the storyboard that I will have to do. My thinking for this is that the better my ideas and pitches are, the more versatile I can become during production. Again, this will be very helpful since I won't have as many actors, camera people, or editors. However, there could be a chance that being independent could save time. For example, I might have to take time to communicate and collaborate with others that might have different skill sets. Teaching somebody a difficult skill can eat up a lot of time and effort that we would not be able to spare in the opening sequence.
