First Scene To begin, we will start with a ground level scene with a pan on an entire grass lawn. I hope to capture the dirt, the roots, and the green blades. Second Scene This will be a simple extreme close up scene on a leaf with water trickling down. The camera will then track the drop and might do a flash or fade transition to the next scene.  Third Scene For the third scene, it will include a cutaway to a computer screen where a mouse is hovered over a play button during the crescendo of the song. The screen will have some other text that summarizes the theme to clarify the plot of the video before the mouse clicks the screen. Fourth Scene There will be a pan of a residential skyline to show urbanization and emphasize the amount of people in a given area. It will be a wide angle establishing shot that puts the number into perspective. Fifth Scene This scene will happen in the main melody and will be a simple high angle shot of a puddle in a street. Sixth Scene This is just an alt

Props I have decided to  give most of the context with the setting. My props will be minimal, but will include garbage of some sort, plastic bottles, metal cans, and cell phones. These props can vary with the availability of space and resources. I might be able to swap out one of the cell phones with a watch. Costumes For the clothing, I will wear some typical trousers, shirt, and outdoor shoes or sandals. The goal is to create a disheveled, casual look. I may use sunglasses depending on the weather on that day.  Location List The main location for my music video will be the sidewalks and fields surrounding my house. I can use close shots of different lawns and swells to create more of a natural setting that can emphasize my props. The trash will greatly contrast with the nature and can create an environmental "conflict." If time and weather permits, I could go further to Hollywood Beach or a district park such as T.Y. Park. Schedule Between 11/18/21 and 11/19/21, I will cre

Research: Music Video Conventions and Codes I will be responsible for the planning, storyboarding, and production of a music video. While looking at the style of many modern music videos, I noticed they have certain similarities. They can sometimes have a single plot or multiple plots occurring simultaneously or different uses of cutaways.  For single plots, they are usually very simple and involve one main event, like a morning routine or escaping a prison. In videos with multiple plots going on, they were more abstract. People in music videos, depending on the setting, wear modern clothes and makeup that suits the mood of the song. Videos can also be very creative with clothing and makeup to make the video unique. Props will include anything relevant to costumes or standard household objects to make sets look  more normal. The music is usually the highlight and the editing and actions coincides with the music. For example, a jump cut could timed with the beat of a drum or bass. Mult

I will most likely work on this project independently. Having another partner would help during production, but it would take some coordination to have all of our resources and ideas together before we started and to get a satisfactory result.  Working solo for most likely mean that I want to spend a lot more time planning for the filming and taking a lot more time for editing to learn the effect to apply them to the video correctly so I can get the best result possible. Considering we have a Thanksgiving break in between this project, we would be able to work on it then. Although we are not required to work during our days off will help greatly with the time management and pacing of blog and  most people will be available during this time. Previously I had  struggle the most with filming. It was hard for me to keep a steady camera and still capture the same shots without casting a large shadow. I might need to find new equipment or try to come up with new ideas to film and get many

Another project begins, and this time, I must create a music video to accompany a song of my choice. This music video must have a plot that is shown with the specific song as the background. It was made very clear that 70 seconds of tracking shots of the beach accompanied with electronic music will not be scored highly.  Even though this project has just started I'm already out of ideas. I am still unsure about what song genre or what plot I will follow along to a song. Depending on the mood of the songs, that could also heavily influence visuals.  For example electronic song with heavy bass and a dark, gloomy tones will probably complement a horror plot. A faster paced song with more acoustics will suit a friendly, wholesome story.  I can already think of some editing techniques that will accompany a song. In general, the jump cuts will most likely be synchronized with the sound of the bass or snare. If the song has some sort of distortion with a synthesizer or electric guit
