In the opening sequence, the titles that are displayed are the production company and other producers. Different staff names and credits to the story are made in the title are shown. We also see the name of the director.

What images are prioritized in the opening sequences?

In the opening sequences, the location and scenery is definitely prioritized. For example, we can see the vast landscape and are given brief context using non-verbal cues. There is obviously a heavy influence on the military equipment. For example, we can see a caravan driving past a checkpoint among a seemingly abandoned plain. We can also see close up shots of a man with a stern face.

What connotations do these images carry?

The large landscape suggests that the film will have a lot of travelling or explorations. The presence of a militia makes the audience assume there will be violence or other action in the film. The very serious, almost stern face suggests that the man shown will most likely be that antagonist of the film or has malicious intent.

How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

As previously mentioned, there are many establishing shots of the setting that make the subjects seem very small. There are also many cars, which can also imply travel or movement that are common in an adventure film. This makes it seem that the setting requires a lot of vehicles to traverse and ultimately will make for a wild adventure.

What strategies are used to ensure film appeals to its target audience?

The film uses symbolism of Indiana Jones' iconic hat to excite viewers that may not be interested in more violent, films. People from all backgrounds who enjoy the franchise could see it as the same characters they love with a different overarching theme.

How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions, and editing techniques.

Technology has been used to get those difficult shots, such as the birds eye angle. This could probably been possible thanks to helicopters or other filming equipment. Also simulating a military encounter must take resourcefulness to make sure nobody is harmed during production. Using fake guns with realistic firing and gunshots can require different props and adjustments in filming.

 Although we are eager to begin working, our group has been very slow to progress. Each of us has been very busy with school and tests, leaving less time that we can all congregate to consistently film. We also have additional extracurriculars that limit the opportunities we have from meeting up together. Now this would be nearly impossible if we had to rely on our parents to drive us from place to place. It would also inconvenience everyone if we try and make a small adjustment to our schedules. Scenes 1-6 In the beginning of the film, the first shot will establish the dark setting of the scene. It will be an establishing shot that tilts on a street to show the moonlight night and a small suburban neighborhood. The next three scenes introduce the interior of the house and the victims of the killer's first crimes. Scenes 7-12 The main protagonist will come home, sensing that something is not right, and wander a quiet home. He will soon make the discovery that his family was murdered and will fill with vengeance. Scenes 13-18 The father of the family will use the police to ask for help finding the, but with no luck. After some time passes, we can still see the emotional trauma the loss has caused. We feel that this helps develop the character. Scenes 19-24 The father, now motivated to avenge his family, will recruit his friends for help and take matters in their own hands. They will find evidence that will begin a chase for the killer. Recurring Issues

Today we faced challenges during our shoot. One of the biggest challenges was getting the right shot under the right conditions.   There were times when we had to wait for the perfect lighting or weather conditions, which could take hours. Even when we had the right conditions, it could take a long time to get the perfect shot. One example of this was when we were filming a particular scene outside in the park. We had to wait for the sun to set just enough to create the desired effect, and then we had to make sure the camera was in the right position to capture the shot. It took about an hour to get just one shot under those conditions, but we knew it was worth the effort to create the desired effect. We also had to contend with other factors like noise and distractions from passersby, which could ruin a shot if not handled properly.
