Major Production Progress

Today, I began to carefully take shots that I will use in my final opening. I made sure to take full advantage of my available production equipment. This includes an adjustable tripod with a spherical gimbal to provide full stability from any angle. As I was looking for a quick solution to my lighting problem, I managed to find a large battery floodlight. This produces a bright light with detachable parts that I can move anywhere within my room. After doing some shots, I was pleasantly surprised. I kept looking through and sending the best ones to my laptop for editing. Even on the digital camera, it retained much better quality and was significantly more stable thanks to all of my preparation in the room for months prior. However, as I was filming from the storyboard, I remembered my script and the rubric. I nearly forgot about these two critical components. I noticed that the storyboard had enough shots to make up three minutes of film, but the sequence is supposed to take just under two. Next, I was frantically looking at which scenes I would have remove to match the time constraints. To summarize these changes, I took an establishing shot of my house, which I figured I could dissolve with the time passing on the clocks. My final problem with the requirements was the use of non-diegetic sound. I can't seem to find an instance of this where it could fit into the film. I thought of sound effects that might have a place and I think I would narrow that to the shot of the orb or a the dissolves of the clock with the time ticking. In retrospect, the latter seems like a better option. For the script, I decided to improvise and scrap the current dialogue with the computer. I figure that frustration will come easier if it is genuine and created on the spot. As of now, there is less talking and much more diegetic sound from the writing and typing. Of course, this could all change during editing.
