After an extensive process, the film was finally complete. It has been a very rough journey, especially with collaborating and working with people. The project really tested our time management skills as we all had to come together for production to make sure we had a full cast on set for production.

Layering On the Edits

I decided that I will edit all of the clips gradually for the music video. Since I won't be using any other clips, pictures, or green screens other than the recording, all of the footage will be directly imported from my phone straight to the software. There is one exceptions, being layer masks that I can make an import simply out of making black outlines. For editing this project, I will use Wondershare Filmora9 because of its simple interface. If I wait until after all of the filming, too many videos will have accumulated that I would have to sort through before I can even start trimming them and removing the major imperfections. Speaking of video editing, I know that this project will mostly use cuts that synchronize with the music and and different colorings to match with the mood created. Merging

  Consolidating the footage from our movie was a time-consuming process. Jibril had to review all the footage to determine which shots were usable and which weren't. The goal was to create a cohesive story that fit within a 5-minute time frame. I had to be mindful of pacing and keep the story moving forward. Some shots were cut because they were redundant or didn't add anything new to the story. Others were cut because they didn't fit with the overall tone and style of the film. We had to make tough decisions about which shots to keep and which to cut. We also had to be mindful of continuity, making sure that the footage flowed seamlessly from one shot to the next. We worked closely with the editor to ensure that the final cut was polished and professional. I added sound effects and music to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the film.
